April 23: Catholic Charismatic Renewal meeting in Rochelle

"Come Holy Spirit: Sharing the Graces of Pentecost" with Patti Mansfield will be April 23 at St. Patrick Parish in Rochelle.  

Patti Gallagher Mansfield was a participant in the 1967 “Duquesne Weekend,” which marked the beginning of the Charismatic Renewal in the Catholic Church. Since then she has traveled the world to bear witness to the grace of being baptized in the Holy Spirit. She was invited by the Pontifical Council for the Laity to address Pope Benedict XVI at a meeting in 2006 for all ecclesial movements and also to minister at the International Priests Retreat in Ars in 2009 and again at the Worldwide Priests Retreat in 2015. Patti and her husband, Al, serve as Liaisons for the Charismatic Renewal in the Archdiocese of New Orleans, Louisiana.

The day will include personal testimony, everyday holiness and evangelization, based on Pope Francis' words, "Share with the whole Church the grace of baptism in the Spirit."

March 30: Holy Doors Pilgrimage from Rockford

Event or News information: Holy Doors Pilgrimage
Father Phillip Kaim will be leading a pilgrimage to all the Holy Doors of the Rockford Diocese in one day, beginning with Mass at the Poor Clares Monastery, 2111 S. Main St., Rockford. He will offer reflections on Mercy as pilgrims travel from church to church. All the pilgrims will be given a passport and by the end of the day, God willing, will have it all stamped. Father Kaim is parochial vicar at SS. Peter and Paul Parish in Cary.
Visiting the Jubilee of Mercy parishes in the Rockford Diocese may entitle you to a special indulgence.
