Obtain a plenary indulgence for a deceased loved one by walking through the holy door at St. Mary Parish in Sterling. The pilgrimage will begin with confessions at 9:15 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. followed by the trip to Sterling.

June 23: Holy Doors Pilgrimage from Batavia

Holy Cross Parish in Batavia invites you to join us for a June 23 pilgrimage in this Jubilee Year of Mercy to three Holy Doors of Mercy in the Rockford Diocese.
Itinerary:
7:00am Meet at Holy Cross, Batavia
7:15am Promptly Depart Holy Cross for Galena on Chartered Coach Bus
10:00am Arrive at St. Michael/Tour
10:30am Mass celebrated at St. Michael
11:30am Box/Picnic Lunch
12:30pm Depart Galena for St. Mary, Sterling
2:00pm Arrive at St. Mary, Sterling
2:15pm Fr. Parker will lead us in Chaplet of Divine Mercy
3:00pm Depart for St. Mary, DeKalb
4:00pm Arrive at St. Mary, DeKalb/Tour
4:30pm Fr. Parker leads us in Litany to The Divine Mercy
5:00pm Depart for Holy Cross
5:30pm Arrive back at Holy Cross

Note: There will be some walking and stairs. In Galena, we will be parking at the bottom of the
hill, walking 2 blocks/30 stairs up to St. Michael. Please let us know if you will need assistance in
Galena going up the hill via pre-arranged transportation separate from the bus.

June 21: Holy Doors pilgrimage from Rockford

Take part in a pilgrimage to Holy Doors in the Rockford Diocese. Stops will include the Cathedral of St Peter in Rockford, St. Michael in Galena, St. Mary in Sterling and St, Mary in DeKalb. Mass will be offered in Galena and there will be time for lunch (on your own) and minimal shopping while there.

During this Jubilee Year of Mercy, let us come together and pray for all those who are affected by abortion. That they may find hope and healing in the merciful love of God. Meet in the church, prayer resources will be provided.

May 18: Mass of Remembrance for Lost Children in Stockton

Mass of Remembrance for those who have lost children on Wednesday, May 18 at 6:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Parish in Stockton. 
Each child, no matter how long he or she was with us, was, indeed a profound gift and blessing for us. Each drew forth hope and care, love and untold promise from each of us. Each has forever impacted our lives and has left memories that are forever precious and held so dear in our hearts. Let us gather and remember and, anew, entrust them to our loving God.

April 23: Catholic Charismatic Renewal meeting in Rochelle

"Come Holy Spirit: Sharing the Graces of Pentecost" with Patti Mansfield will be April 23 at St. Patrick Parish in Rochelle.  

Patti Gallagher Mansfield was a participant in the 1967 “Duquesne Weekend,” which marked the beginning of the Charismatic Renewal in the Catholic Church. Since then she has traveled the world to bear witness to the grace of being baptized in the Holy Spirit. She was invited by the Pontifical Council for the Laity to address Pope Benedict XVI at a meeting in 2006 for all ecclesial movements and also to minister at the International Priests Retreat in Ars in 2009 and again at the Worldwide Priests Retreat in 2015. Patti and her husband, Al, serve as Liaisons for the Charismatic Renewal in the Archdiocese of New Orleans, Louisiana.

The day will include personal testimony, everyday holiness and evangelization, based on Pope Francis' words, "Share with the whole Church the grace of baptism in the Spirit."

Prayer groups should bring a treat for the common table.

Each participant should bring a sack lunch.
